President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced that the country’s electricity generation capacity is expected to double over the next five years. This statement was made during his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for new renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev emphasized that major investments are being made in both traditional and renewable energy sectors, reinforcing Azerbaijan’s position as a regional energy leader. He highlighted that the rapid growth in green energy projects — particularly solar, wind, and hydropower — will significantly contribute to the overall increase in generation capacity.
