Italy has solidified its position as Azerbaijan's primary crude oil customer, importing 9.59 million tons valued at $4.99 billion in the first nine months of 2025, according to the State Customs Committee, as reported by Report. This represents a 45.8% increase in volume and a 19.9% rise in value compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for 56.42% of the nation's total crude oil exports.
In total, Azerbaijan shipped 16.99 million tons of crude oil and bituminous mineral-derived petroleum products, generating $8.94 billion in revenue during January to September 2025.
On a broader scale, the country's foreign trade volume reached $35.38 billion over this period, with exports totaling $18.61 billion and imports at $16.77 billion.
