Azerbaijan’s pivotal position in shaping the Middle Corridor offers truly remarkable prospects, stated UK Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, Lord John Alderdice, in a video message released by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend via Day.Az.
“I am proud that we are elevating our cooperation to a strategic partnership level, building on decades of strong economic ties while expanding them and sharing expertise and knowledge,” he said.
Lord Alderdice expressed delight at his first visit to Azerbaijan in his new role, traveling from the Caspian Sea coast in the east to Nakhchivan in the west.
“Over the past few days, I had the honor of meeting His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev, ministers, colleagues from various government bodies, and business community representatives who are at the forefront of our bilateral relations,” he noted.
The discussions were highly productive and reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepening UK-Azerbaijan partnerships across key economic sectors.
“This visit has shown me how much we can achieve together as strategic partners. I leave Azerbaijan with genuine enthusiasm and optimism about the future of relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan,” Alderdice concluded.
