The latest Board Meeting of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy, chaired by Minister Parviz Shahbazov and attended by ministry departments and agencies, focused on advancing the country’s green energy agenda.
Minister Shahbazov highlighted the significant socio-economic progress driven by the 2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, with particular emphasis on achievements in establishing the Green Energy Zone—a key responsibility of the Ministry.
The meeting featured a detailed report on Green Energy Zone measures, including expanding renewable infrastructure through public-private partnerships, evaluating offshore wind potential and preparatory steps for its exploitation, promoting bioenergy and geothermal sources, developing a renewable energy information system, and conducting potential area assessments with monitoring.
Updates were also provided on energy efficiency efforts.
Additionally, the draft 2026 Work Plan for the Ministry’s Board was presented, outlining planned activities for the coming year.
