The Clean Energy Center plans to launch a series of priority projects this year.
In a statement to "Report," the Center's Executive Director, Aysel Yaqubova, noted that, first of all, a legislative compendium on energy efficiency and renewable energy for the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be prepared. Yaqubova emphasized, "This compendium will not merely be a collection of laws. At the same time, special summaries for various audiences, such as investors and international organizations, will also be presented."
Other planned projects are aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of experts from regional countries, based on their needs.
The statement notes that the Center's main partners are the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and its Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC), as well as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
Yaqubova stated: "One of the Center's main areas of activity is not limited to just increasing knowledge; it is also about finding donor organizations for projects to be implemented in the region."
She also noted that, in addition to IRENA, UNIDO, GN-SEC, and the ECO, the Center currently has cooperative relations with financial institutions such as the Central Asia Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
