The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Japan's "Yokogawa Electric Corporation" have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at exploring potential cooperation opportunities.
According to information provided to "Report," the document was signed during a meeting attended by SOCAR Vice Presidents Anar Mammadov and Babak Huseynov, and Seita Hagihara — President of "Yokogawa Europe B.V.," Vice President of "Yokogawa Electric Corporation," and Regional Chief Executive Officer for Europe, Russia, and the CIS region.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed regarding the progress made in implementing the agreements reached within the framework of the 12th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Japan State Commission on Economic Cooperation held in September of last year.
The parties discussed areas of mutual interest in the energy sector, with particular focus on opportunities for joint activities in the "upstream" (exploration and production) and "downstream" (refining and distribution) segments.
