“AzərEnerji” OJSC and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport have agreed on joint activity directions in the field of digitalization, cybersecurity, and the development of data centers in the energy sector.
According to information provided to “Report” by “AzərEnerji,” the meeting was held at the Head Office, Science, Training, and Laboratory Center of “AzərEnerji.”
This meeting is the second one organized within the framework of implementing the instructions given by President Ilham Aliyev during the consultation on “Azerbaijan’s new digital architecture” held on February 11, as well as in connection with the “Strategy for the Development of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Azerbaijan,” approved by Presidential Decree No. 841 dated December 10, 2025. The discussions primarily focused on the implementation of this Strategy in the energy sector.
During the presentation by “AzərEnerji,” detailed information was provided on the implementation of the Operational Information System for Electric Power Facilities (EOOMS), SCADA, WAMS/WACS systems, as well as real-time monitoring and operational control capabilities. In addition, specially equipped vehicles for monitoring energy facilities and digital control mechanisms were demonstrated.
Representatives of İRİA shared information about cybersecurity systems, the activities of the Cybersecurity Center, security standards, and professional development programs, and proposed joint projects and training programs with “AzərEnerji.”
The meeting also discussed issues related to the energy supply of data centers in the energy sector, the establishment of data infrastructure in areas close to strategic facilities, the development of fiber-optic networks, and the integration of “AzərEnerji” with the myGov.az platform. It was noted that the integration process will be carried out in stages, and a significant increase in the number of platform users is planned.
This cooperation is of great importance for accelerating the digital transformation of the energy sector, raising the level of cybersecurity, and effectively implementing Azerbaijan’s digital economy strategy in the energy field.
