An intergovernmental agreement has been signed between Azerbaijan and Georgia regarding the transit of electricity to Türkiye, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.
The document was signed during the visit of Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Azerbaijan, who came to Baku to take part in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The two countries reaffirmed their strategic partnership by signing a comprehensive package of agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, and connectivity.
The signed documents include intergovernmental agreements on the supply of natural gas to Georgia, on the continuation of transit arrangements for additional supplies of Azerbaijani natural gas to international markets, on the supply of electricity to Georgia and on the transit of electricity through Georgia's territory to Türkiye, as well as a Protocol of the Coordination Council confirming the final acceptance and completion of the modernization works carried out under the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway project.
