Currently, total production at the Shah Deniz field stands at 27 billion cubic metres of gas per year and over 80,000 barrels of condensate per day, Report informs, citing a statement from BP‑Azerbaijan, the technical operator of the project.
“Gas production from the field is currently carried out under the Shah Deniz‑1 and Shah Deniz‑2 projects. Including the first development phase, total production now amounts to 27 billion cubic metres of gas per year and more than 80,000 barrels of condensate daily,” the statement emphasised.
According to the company, under the Shah Deniz‑2 project alone, 17 billion cubic metres of gas are produced annually.
“The production capacity of the existing Shah Deniz facilities exceeds 76 million cubic metres per day, or 28 billion cubic metres per year,” the statement said.
The production sharing agreement for the Shah Deniz field was signed in Baku on 4 June 1996 and ratified by the Milli Majlis on 17 October of the same year.
The participating interests in Shah Deniz are as follows: BP (operator – 29.99%), Lukoil (19.99%), TPAO (19%), NICO (10%), Southern Gas Corridor (16.02%), MVM (5%).
