Egypt and Azerbaijan are exploring long‑term partnership opportunities in the oil and gas sector, Report informs, citing ECO FIN Agency, which refers to Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum.

Discussions on this topic took place during a meeting between Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi and Elshad Nasirov, Vice‑President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week.

According to the information, the talks aimed to activate and expand the scale of long‑term strategic partnership between the two countries.

Badawi highlighted Egypt’s advanced infrastructure for oil refining, transportation, storage, and export, presenting these assets as a basis for broadening cooperation.

The minister also noted investment opportunities in hydrocarbon exploration, development, and production, and invited SOCAR to expand its presence in the Egyptian market.

It was noted that this meeting was a follow‑up to a framework agreement signed on March 31 at the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) in Cairo. The agreement covers several areas of cooperation, including supplies of liquefied natural gas, oil and oil products, investments, training, and professional development.
