Increased tensions between Iran and the United States have jeopardised the April ceasefire agreement, and if full‑scale fighting resumes, the price of oil could approach $150 per barrel, Report informs, citing Jorge Leon, Head of Geopolitical Analysis at the consulting firm Rystad Energy.
“Compared to our previous assessment, the likelihood of a near‑term agreement has fallen by 40%. The situation is becoming increasingly uncertain, and the next few days will be critical to understanding whether diplomacy can once again prevail or whether the conflict will enter a longer‑term escalation phase,” the expert said.
According to Rystad Energy, this uncertainty is reflected in oil price dynamics. Brent crude futures rose sharply on 10 June, reaching approximately $94.5 per barrel, before falling back to around $93 per barrel.
