Approximately 86 billion cubic metres of gas have been exported to Türkiye through the Baku‑Tbilisi‑Erzurum gas pipeline since it became operational, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.
It was noted that 19 years have passed since the commissioning of the Baku‑Tbilisi‑Erzurum gas pipeline. The pipeline transports natural gas from the Shah Deniz gas‑condensate field to the Turkish market.
Through the South Caucasus Pipeline, gas produced from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is delivered to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. The South Caucasus Pipeline was commissioned in late 2006, and gas production from Phase 1 of the Shah Deniz field began to be transported. Since the summer of 2018, gas produced under Phase 2 of the Shah Deniz field has been delivered to Türkiye via the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline, connecting to the TANAP pipeline.
