The collection of geophysical data in Azerbaijan's Guba‑Caspian oil‑gas region will be completed by early October this year, Report informs.
To carry out these works, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Canada's Gran Tierra Energy have engaged Metatek Group.
The data collection is part of the seismic exploration programme that has already begun in this contract area. Metatek plans to deploy a digital full‑tensor gravity gradiometry (dFTG) system in the Guba‑Caspian oil‑gas region for rapid data acquisition.
Earlier, in July, the parties announced their intention to conduct 2D seismic exploration work to detail the geological structure of the region.
