Türkiye's Electricity Transmission Joint Stock Company (Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş. – TEİAŞ) will expand its cooperation with Azerbaijan on electricity transmission, Report informs, citing TEİAŞ Chairman of the Board Mustafa Pustu at the 5th Azerbaijan‑Türkiye Energy Forum in Baku.
According to him, electricity transmission is one of the fundamental elements of economic development, social welfare, and national security: "At the same time, the energy transition, the integration of renewable energy sources into transmission grids, and the development of interconnector capacity between countries have become issues that must now be considered not only at the national but also at the regional level."
He noted that TEİAŞ is responsible for the safe, high‑quality, and uninterrupted operation and development of Türkiye's electricity system. "We attach great importance to increasing the exchange of technical knowledge and experience with Azerenerji, preparing joint projects, and developing regional interconnector opportunities. Our goal in this process is not merely to lay new transmission lines, but – taking into account the strategic advantages of Türkiye and Azerbaijan – to form a regional electricity infrastructure that is based on mutual trust, technically strong, commercially viable, and sustainable in the long term."
Pustu emphasised that TEİAŞ is ready to fulfil its obligations, work in close coordination with Azerbaijani companies, and contribute to the two countries' shared energy vision.
