The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has successfully completed its first 3D OBN seismic survey in the shallow-water section of the Gunashli field in the Caspian Sea.
The survey, conducted at the field operated by SOCAR’s “Azneft” Production Union, covered an area of 247.6 square kilometers. The high-resolution seismic data obtained during the survey will enable a more detailed analysis of geological formations, tectonic faults and reservoirs.
The collected data are expected to contribute to improving the field’s geological model and identifying future drilling targets with greater accuracy.
The project represents an important step in expanding SOCAR’s use of advanced geophysical technologies in the Caspian Sea. It will also support a more accurate assessment of the future potential of mature fields through the application of modern technologies.
