Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) is ready to explore potential investment opportunities in Cambodia and cooperate with local partners.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov made the remarks at the Azerbaijan-Cambodia Business Forum.
According to the minister, energy, including green energy, is one of the promising areas for cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Azerbaijan is currently a reliable global energy supplier. Sixteen countries receive natural gas from Azerbaijan through pipelines, while the number of countries importing liquefied gas is even higher.
Jabbarov said Azerbaijan’s competitive energy prices make the country an attractive destination for manufacturing. He emphasized that Azerbaijan welcomes expanded cooperation in conventional energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The minister also noted that state-owned SOCAR is not only an energy supplier but also an active international investor. The company is involved in investment activities across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Central Asia and other regions.
Jabbarov said Azerbaijan is open to working with partners in Cambodia and exploring potential investment and cooperation opportunities in the country.
